A classic amongst tableware, Maria was first created by Rosenthal in 1916 and has proved to be one of the most popular and successful tableware designs of all time. With its extensive range of special and additional items, Maria White (German: Maria Weiß) meets the highest individual requirements of classic, contemporary tableware and offers a complete gourmet programme. Its charming design with the delicate pomegranate relief has for generations been synonymous with a graciously-set table. The fine curves of the embossing underline the striking character of the service and give every item a delicate, sculptured beauty all its own. The name Maria is a declaration of love. Privy Councillor Philipp Rosenthal paid a charming tribute to his wife, the French countess Maria de Beurges, by naming this shape after her. Maria lovingly creates a classic lifestyle for the table, whether it’s in a relaxed atmosphere at teatime, a well-appointed brunch with friends on Sunday morning or a big family celebration.
