Royal
Doulton
has been
in business since 1815, when it became known for its high-quality
housewares in brown stoneware.
In the 1870s Royal Doulton achieved worldwide fame with its
elaborate stoneware tankards, jugs, and vases. Many of these
are dated and signed by various artists, who became famous as
Doulton artists. They are valuable collector's items today.
